Ruth

clinical supervision christchurch ruthI believe that support for health professionals working in new, innovative or more autonomous roles is essential for their development.  Supervision provides opportunities to explore clinical and system issues and to develop functional and rewarding relationships with their clients, colleagues, and families. Having an opportunity to reflect on practise and issues that arise, prevents burnout of the clinician and assists them to remain vital in the work they do.

My past clinical practice has given me a comprehensive understanding of the needs of clinicians and the challenges they experience. I assist the supervisee to examine their philosophical beliefs and the impact that these have on their practise with clients. I also encourage the supervisee to look at their support systems and encourage a healthy work/life balance to prevent burnout.

I understand the pressures and expectations on people working in the caring profession, and this informs how I practise

I have a certificate in Advanced Clinical Supervision and am trained in Role Theory.

I am a member of the NZ Nurses Organisation.

On a personal note I have a partner Alistair and two adult sons. I have also become a pug enthusiast having adopted Clara, and the muse of an Australian terrier, Dixie.

Lindy

lindy jumpsuit consulting supervision christchurchI discovered in the course of my work in the health profession, a need to talk with others about the work I do and how it impacts on who I am personally.

My background is firstly as a general nurse with over 30 years experience and then in the past 12 years in counselling and psychotherapy. The combination of working as both therapist and nurse gave me the opportunity to work with patients in a deeper way.

I believe mental health depends on the wholeness of mind, body and soul. My work as a supervisor and therapist emphasises this and self-awareness through which choices become available.

I am trained in role theory supervision and have a diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy. I maintain my registration as a nurse and am a member of NZNO.

On a personal level, what has most shaped who I am, is the parenting of three now splendid adult children along with my husband Ed. I now have a large dog Dora who likes to walk me on a regular basis.
